Who are we?

Green Country Chrysalis, Incorporated is an organization dedicated to the Christian spiritual growth of high school through college aged youth. We are located in northeastern Oklahoma, an area commonly known as "Green Country." As an example of the three-day movement we strive to provide discipleship to the young people we serve. It is our goal that they grow closer to Jesus Christ and so impact the life of the church universal. We are ecumenical in our scope of service and in the nature of our members. If you have additional questions, please feel free to contact us

What is Chrysalis?

Chrysalis is a version of the three day movement for high school aged youth. The three day movement began in Spain in the middle of the twentieth century as a short course in Christianity. From its beginnings in Spain, the movement spread to various other parts of the world including the United States.

A Chrysalis Flight is a version of the three day movement based upon the Walk to Emmaus model (see below). Chrysalis is specifically designed to provide discipleship, growth, and leadership among youth. While there are many models which seek to reach these goals, it is the intention of the Chrysalis community to create a lasting pattern of discipleship in the lives of participants and to create leaders among youth who will continue to impact the life of the local church, wherever they worship and serve. In addition, Green Country Chrysalis seeks to work in partnership with the local church and its youth ministries as an activity which supports the local church ministries.

The Walk to Emmaus is a version of the three day movement created by the Upper Room (a ministry of the United Methodist Church) for adults. It is an ecumenical program designed to develop lay leadership in the local churches. While this version is administered by the United Methodist Church, each local Emmaus or Chrysalis community is an autonomous corporation involving members of Christ's body from a variety of denominational backgrounds. One of the purposes of this movement is to foster unity in the body of Christ. A survey of the members of the Green Country Chrysalis community would include Methodists, Southern Baptists, Nondenominational church members, members of the community church model, Lutherans, members of the Church of Christ, and members of other church bodies.
